Thimbles and More...
I just found this little thimble holder shoe and sterling silver
thimble in an antique shop about 30 miles from where we live.
The shoe looks quite old, don't you think?
This little shoe pincushion came from a fabric store.  The fabric behind the pincushion is the thimble and sewing
accessories material I used to make a skirt, vest and an apron out of.  If you would like to see the outfit you may go to my other thimble web page where it is posted.
The link is the pewter Iowa thimble just below.
Just click on the thimble and go to, "Thimble, Thimble"!!
My aunt in Ca. made this thimble for me and fired it in her own kiln.  It is very special to me!!

I have a real fondness for children's thimbles.  The one on the left with the floral motif is 1/2 " tall.
I have 4 or 5 of the one on the right. If any one would like to trade for one.  Just let me know!
This funny little character came from an estate auction.  She is a pincushion---pull on her nose and it is a tape measure. Isn't she funny?
Roses are an all time favorite of mine.  This is just a
sampling of my rose thimbles.
These are some of my favorites just because they are so unusual...
On the far left is a 2000 Millenium thimble, next is the Lord's Supper,
a bunny carved out of a wooden thimble, a beaded thimble from a Native American reservation in South Dakota, a little Gorham doll thimble and in the bottom row are two wooden thimbles, both painted with roses, the one on the left came from a flea market and the one on the right was painted and sent as a gift from my new thimble collector friend, Connie, in Oklahoma.
Here is another little pin cushion.  Pins go in the seat.  Scissors in the back and spools of thread on spindles to the sides of the chair arms.
This is a portion of a vest I made and sewed on little sewing accessories...such as scissors, buttons, thimble buttons, mini safety pins, etc.  I always get a lot of comments when I wear it out somewhere.
If you enjoyed this page I hope you will leave me a message in my guest book.
I also hope you will come over and visit me at my other thimble page...

Wishing you each the very best and praying for the blessings of the Lord to be upon you!!

How do you like these little cuties?  Recognize them?
They are the little mice, Gus and Jaq, from the movie, "Cinderella".  A friend acquired them off of e-bay for her daughter who is a collector of these two little characters.
Here is the story about where these two thimbles came from:
They were sold on e-bay by a lady in Germany who acquired them from the Euro Disney resort in France several years ago.  As seller, she says she doesn't know if these are even still available.  Has anyone else ever seen these anywhere before?
This is another e-bay item she acquired for her daughter.  See the thimble at the base?  Cute items aren't they?  I know her daughter will be thrilled!!
My friend, Jill, knew of a lady who was going to be travelling in Europe, she asked the lady to bring back a thimble for me--and here it is!  Wild, huh?  Not only did I get the lovely thimble which she would take no money for but she also brough a post card to show the city!!  Aren't people great?  Most of them are, most of the time!!  I think thimble people are especially, special!!  This means you!!
These 3 great thimbles came to me from Carol in Oklahoma.
My husband just loves these!!
I have about 25 advertising
thimbles.  This one is an Arm & Hammer(Church & Co.) baking soda thimble.
